2012 Canadian $1 Olympic Lucky Loonie Dollar Original Coin Roll

The 2012 Lucky Loonie circulation coin features the iconic loon as it spreads its majestic wings while sitting on rippling Canadian lake waters. The coin also features the Canadian Olympic Team logo, in celebration and support of Canada’s athletes as they compete at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Design

The obverse design features a bust image of Queen Elizabeth II and the phrase "ELIZABETH II D.G. REGINA". The current year resides just below the bust. In June 2003, the Government of Canada announced that an updated effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II would appear on all Canadian circulation coins in honour of the 50th anniversary of the Queen's coronation. This design is the work of artist Susanna Blunt, whose prior experience with Buckingham Palace included painting a portrait of Prince Edward.

The reverse, designed by Robert R. Carmichael, features a Canadian Loon and a single laser mark of a maple leaf positioned within a circle on the coin above the "Lucky Loonie" design. The Canadian Olympic Team Logo is on the left side of the reverse of this coin.. On the outer periphery are the words "CANADA" and "DOLLAR".

Packaging

Roll includes 25 coins of 2012 Canadian $1 Olympic Lucky Loonie in unopened original condition.
