Design
Portraits of HRH Duke and Duchess of Connaught appear on the face of the new note and the back portrays the Canadian Coat of Arms surrounded by the Provincial shields.
Initial printings of the $2 Dominion notes of 1914 have the words "WILL PAY TO THE BEARER ON DEMAND" curved around the large 2 counter at the centre of the note. Later issues contain a straight line version of the "WILL PAY.." phrase. At the same time it was decided to put the series letter in front of the sheet number, retaining the hyphen.
