2011 Canadian 25-Cent Legendary Nature: Orca Whale Non-coloured Quarter Original Coin Roll
Equally at home in Canada’s Pacific and Atlantic coasts, the Orca is a highly social sea mammal, of which some populations are considered threatened or endangered. Thanks to active conservation efforts, significant Orca pods have found sanctuary near the British Columbia mainland in places such as the Gulf Islands National Park Reserve of Canada and the Gwaii Haanas National Marine Conservation Area Reserve.
Design
The obverse design features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II in right profile at 77 years old, surrounded by the Latin inscription "ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA". This effigy was designed by Susanna Blunt.
Designed by BBDO, the coin features an orca whale facing right. The text underneath reads "CANADA", the face value "25 CENTS", and the year of issue, "2011".
Packaging
Each roll contains 40 coins of Royal Canadian Mint issued 2011 Canadian 25-Cent Legendary Nature: Orca Whale non-coloured quarters in original unopened condition.
