2002-P (1952-) Canadian 25-Cent Caribou/Queen's Jubilee Quarter Original Coin Roll
The caribou on a 25-cent piece dates back to 1936 when a change in the sovereign's image on circulation currency prompted the Canadian government to modify the designs on the reverse side of coins as well. The caribou design was created by Canadian artist Emanuel Hahn and was first used in 1937.
Design
The obverse design features Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at 64 years old, wearing a new crown, surrounded by the Latin inscription "ELIZABETH II D. G. REGINA". This was the first effigy to be designed by a Canadian, Dora de Pédery-Hunt. The "1952 2002" dates commemorate Queen Elizabeth II's Jubilee as do all 2002 coins.
Designed by Emanuel Hahn, the coin features a left facing image of a Caribou head. The denomination sits between the antlers. Text to the left reads "CANADA", while the text to the right features the date.
Packaging
Each roll contains 40 Royal Canadian Mint issued 2002-P (1952-) Canadian 25-Cent Caribou/Queen's Jubilee quarters in unopened original condition.
