25 Cents - Elizabeth II with Tiara / Bobcat - Confederation Centennial (1967)

All denominations for Canadian coin releases in 1967 bore special reverses to commemorate the 1967 confederation of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick to the Dominion of Canada. 


Silver Composition Varieties 

During 1967, the rising price of silver forced a reduction in the silver content to use to make the 25-cent coins from 80% to 50%. The two varieties are not distinguishable by eye.



Coin depicts the Laureate Bust design of Queen Elizabeth II with the Latin inscription:
ELIZABETH II D • G • REGINA meaning "Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, the Queen



Features Alex Colville's design of a bobcat struck in commemoration of Canada's Centennial of Confederation.


Roll includes 40 coins of 1967 (1867-) Canadian 25 Cents Bobcat in unopened original condition.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has given notice that it intends to hold rotating strikes in Victoria, Edmonton, Windsor, Toronto (GTA) and Halifax beginning after 12:01 am on Monday, October 22 (local time), and lasting 24 hours. In those areas, mail and parcels will not be delivered or picked up. Canada Post continues to operate across Canada and they will be accepting and delivering mail and parcels in all other locations.
