One Dollar Silver - George V (1935 - 1936)

Standard issue $1 Canadian Silver Dollar coin for circulation. 

 

Obverse

Coin depicts the design of King George V, the commemorative side of the coin, with the Latin inscription:
GEORGIVS V DEI GRA:REX ET IND:IMP meaning "George V, by the grace of God, King and Emperor of India."
 

Reverse

Features a modern design by sculptor Emanuel Hahn, showing an Indian and a voyageur, a travelling agent for a fur company, paddling a canoe by an islet on which therer are two wind-swept trees. In the canoe are bundles of goods; the bundle at the right has HB, representing the Hudson's Bay Company. The vertical lines in the background represet the northern lights. 

 

Royal Canadian Mint issued 1936 $1 Silver Dollar coin for circulation in 1936. Item comes in circulated condition. Coin may have some toning, wear and/or field scratches.
