Design: Britain’s Royal Family has been central to life in Great Britain, its empire, and often the world, since William I. Throughout, kings and queens have adapted the monarchy to meet every age’s challenges. Today’s monarchy represents a continuous thread in British history; one that embodies a powerful sense of identity, memory, and affection.

Prince William was born on June 21, 1982 and baptised Prince William Arthur Philip Louis. After attending Mrs. Mynors, Wetherby, and Ludgrove Schools, he started at Eton College in September 1996. William visited Chile, Belize, and Africa before resuming his studies at St. Andrews University in Fife, Scotland. Upon graduation from St. Andrews, William entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst.

In December 2006, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Household Cavalry (Blues and Royals). In 2008, Queen Elizabeth appointed him Royal Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter and William began training as a search and rescue pilot in the Royal Air Force.

As second in line to the throne, Prince William attends a number of important royal ceremonies such as the Trooping of the Colour and Remembrance Day at the Cenotaph. In 2005, he represented Queen Elizabeth II at ceremonies commemorating the end of the 60th anniversary of the Second World War in New Zealand.

Prince William is an active philanthropist and athlete who regularly joins his brother to play in games through which money is raised for various charities.
