Canada $1 Winnipeg (Manitoba) Centennial (1874 - 1974) coin issued from the Royal Canadian Mint for circulation in 1974.

 

Obverse

Coin depicts the design of Queen Elizabeth II with the Latin inscription:
ELIZABETH II D•G•REGINA  meaning "Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, the Queen".

 

Reverse

Features a large '100' with Winnipeg's main street as it appeared in 1874 depicted in the first '0' and the 1974 equivalent in the second '0'. This coin is popular with collectors due to the many varieties of doubling of the ox's yoke.
