The bearheaded effigy of Queen Elizabeth II was introduced in 2003 in celebration of the jubilee year of her reign.
Obverse
Coin depicts the Laureate Bust design of Queen Elizabeth II with the Latin inscription:
ELIZABETH II D • G • REGINA meaning "Elizabeth II, by the grace of God, the Queen"
Reverse
The 1-cent (one-cent piece) features two maple leaves on the same twig known as "Maple Leaf Twig".
