1917 Newfoundland 25-Cent Silver Quarter Coin Roll (Circulated)

92.5% Silver 25 Cent Coins - George V (1917 - 1919)

The Canadian government convinced the Newfoundland government to drop their current 20-cent coin and adopt a 25-cent, stuck on the same standard as the corresponding Canadian coin. Indeed, the obverse (portrait-side) of the coin was identical to that of the Canadian quarter.

Coin depicts the design of King George V with the Latin inscription:
GEORGIVS V DEI GRA:REX ET IND:IMP meaning "George V, by the grace of God, the King and Emperor of India."

Coin features a standard text-style design. This denomination was coined by the Ottawa Mint and bears a "C" mint mark below the oval at the bottom.

Roll includes 40 coins of 1917 Newfoundland 25 Cent (Silver Quarters) in circulated condition.
