Design: During his long career as a painter, Arthur Lismer traveled across Canada and in 1930 painted in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia where he painted some of his most enduring works. In Nova Scotia Fishing Village, he captured the details of maritime life in vivid brushstrokes.
In your coin, the swirling character of the brushstrokes and the interaction of shapes have all been faithfully reproduced by Royal Canadian Mint engravers.
